Ruijie RG-WS6512, High-Performance Large Campus Wireless Access Controller
Ruijie RG-WS6512, High-Performance Large Campus Wireless Access Controller
Product Overview
The RG-WS6512, a high-performance wireless controller developed by Ruijie Networks, is a future-proof wireless network device that is suitable for higher education, general education, government, and financial scenarios. It can be seamlessly integrated into any Layer 2 or Layer 3 network without changing the existing network architecture or hardware devices, enabling secure wireless network control. The RG-WS6512 can manage 128 wireless access points (APs) by default. With license upgrade, it can manage up to 1,152 generic APs or 2,304 wall-mounted APs.
The RG-WS6512 can enable powerful centralized and visualized management and control, greatly simplifying implementation and deployment of wireless networks. With enhanced security and clustering technologies, the RG-WS6512 provides network services through identity-based networking, allows multiple wireless controllers to share user databases, and enables STAs to seamlessly roam across different areas of a network. This design ensures security and session integrity during mobile roaming, making it fit for data interaction and smooth voice services over Wi-Fi communication.
Product Highlights
Ultra-High Performance
High performance and high reliability: can be deployed on a Layer 2 or Layer 3 network to handle data exchange on all connected APs. Its intelligent local forwarding technology eliminates traffic bottlenecks and improves network performance.
Power redundancy and hot swapping: offers 1+1 redundancy and hot swapping of power modules, ensuring stable device operation and improving the availability of the system.
Intelligent RF management and network-wide seamless roaming: further enhances security and ensure efficient data transmission.
AC virtualization: virtualizes multiple ACs into one logical AC, realizing high reliability and capacity expansion without additional hardware devices.
Application traffic identification and application-level QoS mapping: identifies more than 2,500 applications through deep packet inspection, optimizes allocation of network resources, and enhances network performance.
Intelligent networking
DHCP security and managing information security: employs DHCP snooping to prevent the unauthorized DHCP server from allocating IP addresses, and uses SSH and SNMPv3 to encrypt management information, preventing hackers from attacking and controlling the device.
Rich management policies: supports multiple management modes, which can realize centralized, effective, and low-cost planning, deployment, monitoring, and management of APs on the entire network, and simplify network O&M.
Hierarchical AC management: uses the central AC to manage multiple branch ACs, improving the efficiency and reliability of network management.
Eweb-based management: provides Eweb, which is convenient for O&M personnel to plan, and operate and maintain a wireless network.
High Security
Virtual AP technology: allocates multiple SSIDs and configures separate authentication and encryption modes for each SSID to enhance security of a wireless network.
RF security: enables the RF probe scanning mechanism for connected APs to discover rogue APs or other RF interference sources in real time, ensuring security on a wireless network.
Virus and attack prevention: adopts multiple built-in security mechanisms to effectively prevent and control the spread of viruses and network traffic attacks, and to ensure network access of authorized users.
Secure user access: supports multiple easy-to-use authentication modes, including web authentication mode, 802.1X authentication, MAB authentication, and SMS- and QR code-based authentication, to enhance security of network access.
ARP anti-spoofing and AP containment: effectively prevents ARP spoofing and detects rogue APs to enhance security of a wireless network.
